CLIENT:
PC World Magazine
PROJECT SCOPE:
Identity, magazine design
COMPETITION AND MARKET:
Main competitors are PC Magazine, which targets more technically sophisticated consumers, and Wired Magazine, which serves a younger crowd and focuses more on digital culture and “popular electronics.”
SOLUTION:
Add some human interest to the magazine image and also update its look and feel. The covers were stripped of the photographs
of computers and their parts that adorned every issue of PC World. Instead they now illustrate cover stories using metaphors, while typography reflects the technology aspect of the magazine.

Magazine Covers Issue’s cover story dictates the cover image and the headline. Main articles are listed in a consistent place and style. Each issue has its own main color and, depending on the background image, masthead’s two colors can alternate as shown. |
